Full-time Taproom Manager:
This is a great opportunity to join a growing brewery in the heart of Fife. We are looking for a full-time taproom manager to drive forward our taproom and social hall and contribute to building a successful first year in operation.
Howe Beer Project is a start-up microbrewery and taproom in rural Fife, Scotland. Our vision is to operate the taproom as a modern social hall to serve as an events and gathering place for the local community and tourists alike. As taproom manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our taproom and will support in delivering events that bring our space to life. This is a hands-on role requiring leadership, creativity, and strong organisational skills. This role is part of a small, but growing, team and we’re looking for someone who is self-motivated and invested in the success of the company – we want you to feel a sense of ownership within the space and a willingness to explore new and creative ideas.
Key responsibilities:
Day-to-day running of the taproom, including engaging customers and sharing our story.
Manage taproom operations, including staff, stock, and cleanliness. This includes training and leading a small team of front-of-house staff, managing back of house systems and pricing, stock and fulfilment of sales within the taproom and webshop.
Support the organisation and delivery of a diverse range of events and taproom activities (e.g., beer launches, live music, regular games nights, food trucks, private events, etc.), as well as external events.
Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, partners, suppliers, vendors, artists and the wider community.
Management of taproom communications, including responding to customer and supplier queries and supporting social media coverage for the taproom/social hall.
Flexible schedule, with regular evening and weekend hours.
What we’re looking for:
Previous hospitality or bar management experience (ideally in a craft beer or brewery setting)
Strong leadership and organisational skills
Good communication skills, customer service experience and a demonstrated ability to work with others as part of a team.
Passion for beer/brewing and creating a great customer experience
Ability to work evenings, weekends and flexible hours, as required
Good problem-solving skills, a keenness to learn, and the ability to work creatively and with common sense.
Desirable but not essential:
Knowledge of cellar management and beer dispense systems
Knowledge of catering and event management
Experience in social media or marketing
Connections in the local events/music/food scene
A driver’s license (to support deliveries and external events)
Personal license holder (or willingness to obtain)
